βΉοΈ Project background
Many 1-1-2 calls involve frail older patients, often leading to hospital admission, which can cause suffering and high costs. Non-specific symptoms and varied interpretation of vital signs make it hard to detect life-threatening conditions, while hospitalization may not always be the best outcome.
We hypothesize that implementing an age-adjusted Early Warning Score (EWS) and Clinical Frailty Score (CFS) will improve patient-reported outcomes (PROMs) and reduce ambulance transport costs. This intervention aligns ambulance care to patients' needsβstabilizing vital signs for high EWS cases and using a holistic, shared decision-making approach for frail older patients (high CFS).
π We are looking for:
π A highly motivated MSc graduate in medicine, health sciences, or paramedicine
π Interest in prehospital research & older patient care
π Strong analytical & organizational skills
