📢 Welcome to RECEM, Rikke! We’re excited to have Rikke Madsen Gravesen with us for the next six months as she works on her Master’s Thesis in Health Science at Aarhus University! 🎉

Patients arriving at the emergency department with non-specific symptoms are often seriously ill, yet their triage level may not reflect their true risk. Some report only “feeling unwell”, despite normal vital signs, leading to potential under-triage. Many require hospitalization, and their risk of death is high.

The study examines whether certain risk factors – such as taking multiple medications – are linked to higher mortality rates among these patients. The goal is to improve the symptom card to make the triage process more accurate, reducing the risk of under-triage.
